Happy Friday, friends!! So glad you've stopped by our little part-ay! I hope you'll link up and show me your favorite crafts and recipes for the Christmas season. This is such a fun time of year to make things for gifts, I always enjoy it!
If you follow me on Instagram (itsjustlaine), you saw I was up laaate last night cleaning and spiffing up the school room for some friends who'll be coming today. I love having guests and I think it's especially fun during the holidays!
I found these paper mache JOY letters at Hobby Lobby and gave them two coats of turquoise craft paint and then gave them a coating of shimmery glitter craft paint. I cleared off the dresser where we usually keep the school suppy box and put them there, along with two little trees left from my Anthro-knock-off Christmas tree jars. Now it looks all festive but they still have plenty of room to throw their phones, laptops or whatever on the dresser. Paper snowflakes...these are so simple and pretty!
I found this little tree at Michaels and added a strand of lights from the Dollar Tree and put it in a thrifted bucket. Didn't really have any other place set it so I stuck it on the chair. It's one happy little corner! (BTW, for those who follow me on Instagram...the little rainbow afghan didn't last long as a rug. Ha. My littles kept stealing it for a blankie. Go figure, lol!)
Happy that I was able to add a little Christmas cheer to this little room...hope they like it! =)
Do you have any guests coming to stay during the holidays? What kind of preparations do you like to do?
Now, I hope you'll link up your great ideas! It's getting so close to Christmas and I know that I, along with many others, would love the extra inspiration!
Love your JOY letters...especially in the pop of turquoise! I'm also loving those chevron drapes...I used a red chevron to make a market/tote bag for a classroom teacher...such a fun fabric to work with!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love your JOY letters too! so fun in turquoise!
ReplyDeleteI had guests recently too. I didn't Christmas-fy the room but I did do a mini-makeover on it so hopefully it was comfortable and pretty. One of these days I would love to be the person who decorates their room and the guest room for Christmas too but have many things on the list to accomplish before that :)
Love the little tree too!
It has been fun doing this series with you, Laine!
thanks for the FUN time doing this series together!!! I always love your stuff anyway, so it was fun to be in on the secret posts together. Merry Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteLove that happy little corner. Lit Christmas trees make me happy...for several reasons {aka having a tree go dark TWO years in a row}! lol!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved participating in this Christmas series with you. I've enjoyed and followed your blog for a long time- so doing this with you was really great!
Thanks so much. :)
