One Thousand Gifts

I got this book from the library last week.
I had put it on hold FOUR months ago.
Now I wish I had just bought it....this book is amazing.
If you haven't read it, you need to.
I'm not finished yet...it's not a fast read.
But I'm really being challenged in the area of gratitude.

Blessings abound in our lives, we just have to learn to take notice.
Here are a few blessings in my life that I'm thankful for today....

1. Pretty purple mum sitting on a stump beside my front door
2. Hanging basket of viola's (found on clearance for $0.99!)

3.  Dish soap in a mason jar (idea from here...her 31 day series has been awesome!)
4.  A disastrous school room with sunshine pouring in the windows
5.  Yankee Candles ("Harvest" is one of my favs!)
6.  Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer....delish.
 7.  Embroidery hoops to experiment with in my dining room.  (Not going to cut off the excess fabric until I'm sure I love it.  If I keep it I'm going to add a tiny one below my french fry picture.)

8.  Finding sweet Lucy snuggled in her quilt during naptime. =)
9.  And the big brother who bolted in to ask me a question while I was taking said pics and of course, woke her up.  =D

Real quick...leave a comment and tell me something you're thankful for today!

  1. I'm thankful to be visiting with family. <3

  2. Today I am thankful for God's provisions

  3. I'm thankful for a vehicle that runs...no matter HOW MESSY it sometimes gets...

  4. I'm thankful that I found the perfect muffin recipe right before I had to make 2 dozen for a youth activity. God knew! :)

  5. Thankful that we were able to get a car for a reasonable price - Thankful that the Lord provides!

  6. I bought that book a couple of months ago and haven't read it yet! I better get to it. I'm thankful for my husband who is off from work over the next 4 days and is taking me on a breakfast date tomorrow!

  7. I have that book and only made it through a portion of it. I need to get it back out again and read through it. I think it was overwhelming at first.

But thankfulness in the things I HAVE (vs. the things I don't have) is something I need to work on.

Thankful for cheery red "EAT" words in my kitchen :)

  8. I bought this book a while back and am working my way through it. It has changed my whole outlook on life and for that I am grateful!

  9. Oh, this is easy! I am thankful for my relationship with my husband. For how God is still working on us both to make us even more perfect for one another. That is a great blessing to me!

  10. Ray listened to the book being read by the author and said it was awesome. I'd love to read it!

God has blessed me with so many things.... but right now I am thankful for chicken pie! :) The Lord is bringing me through some things that are teaching me to be thankful for every. single. thing. I have less now than I did, but I am more thankful now than I had been. My God is good!

  11. Thankful for so many things...but today is Columbus Day, so I'm thankful that we get to have Columbus Day Soup for dinner!!! :)

  12. Thankful for God's grace in my life!! (btw...I LOVE Ann Voskamp!) =)

I love to hear from my readers! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
