We were going to begin our 12th week of school today but last night it hit me that we are almost 1/3 through our school year and we deserve a break. SO, we are having an unplanned, unscheduled Fall Break this week. I'm a "mean ole' school marm" and we ALWAYS have school. You pretty much have to be deathly ill to get out of school around here, lol. Seriously, I started school back up 10 days after Lucy was born! We take it pretty seriously, but still, sometimes you just need a break. NOW. =D
Life has seemed a bit overwhelming lately and well, when life gets that way, blogging is the first thing to go! =) Since it's been pretty quiet around here for the past couple of weeks (sorry!), here's a little glimpse into what we've been up to lately....
Miss Lucy is growing up way too fast! (Can you believe she's 11 months old!) She can understand so many things now and her little personality is really starting to shine. It seems she has changed so much in the last couple of weeks!
"Mom, this leaf looks so tasty...I don't understand why you won't let me eat it!? Can't you see I'm literally drooling over here???" =D
Lucy is still crawling, but is so, SO close to walking.
She's a stinker though...she'll stand there and smirk at you and then sit down.
Silly girl. =)
Laundry.
Yep, I'm always doing that!
(BTW, I love my clothesline...you need one. They are wonderful.)
And you need on of these too.
Big Sister's are awesome.
But you can't have her...she's such a big help to me!
"Oh, OH, Let's go fly a kite......!"
That's going to be stuck you in your head all day.
You're welcome. =D
(If you have no clue what I'm talking about, you need to watch Mary Poppins.)
Lydia's had that kite for a while and we finally got it out. It was so fun to watch and they had a blast!
Lydia's got a few new accessories...polka dot galoshes (LOVE them) that I found for $3 at the local consignment shop, and a heart monitor.
She's been a having a lot of moments through her days where she feels lightheaded and her heart feels like it's beating too fast. While checking her pulse during a recent "episode", something seemed really off, so she'll be wearing this for the next 2-4 weeks to make sure she doesn't have an arrhythmia.
This is Mr. Levi's uniform of late...his birthday cape (mostly worn backwards like a massive bib) and his rifle. He keeps me on my toes, but I just adore this little man. =)
Fall is so beautiful in the country....I need to take some pictures of all the leaves before they are all in the yard!
Oh, and I made these Philly Cheese Steak Subs on Friday. They were amazing. It was a perfect Friday night food. Best part was that I did it all in the crockpot! Well, except the bread...I did bake that in the oven. =)
How is your October going, friends? Is it flying by? Any "Fall Breaks" going on around your home?
Enjoy your break from school. Loved seeing pics of your family. I can't believe how big the baby is. I will pray for good news on the heart front. And after looking at that cheese steak, I'm hungry for one! Yummy.
ReplyDeleteOh you sound like the kind of "school Marm" that i tend to be!! But all business and no play makes for dull days (and grumpy kids) so enjoy your break!! It's beautiful weather for it. Gotta say that my big girls were oohing and awing over your little Lucy. They love babies and think she is adorable! (And I agree, the big girls are HUGE helpers!!) Yes they do grow so quickly. Our youngest is 14 months now. Ack!!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are getting so big! I can't believe it. We will keep Lydia in our prayers. Enjoy your break...and yes...the first thing to go is blogging and that's okay! I always wondered how you did it all!!!! You've most likely got it down better than me!! Cooking that bread from scratch! Wow!!!!
Haha, ummm..NO, I so do not have it all down, that is for sure! (Care to look at my kitchen right now, lol!) Goodness, do you know how in awe I always was of you and how "put together" you were at church? For real. =)
DeleteHard to believe your youngest is over a year! Wow, time flies!!
Oh wow...I musta had you fooled!!! ;) It's nice to hear that though. I saw your post of FB about Lydia's MRI, we will be praying for all of you tonight and tomorrow!
DeleteLooks like you are having fun. Glad that you're back. I've been thinking about you guys often and you are certainly in our prayers. (And yes, blogging takes a back burner sometimes here too.)
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall Break! We need one o' those soon. :)
Yay! Fall Break! Bet the kids were happy! :) Love the pics of Lucy, too. :) (and yes, now the song is stuck in my head....thanks alot.:-)
ReplyDeleteGood for you for taking a break! Sounds like you need it! We are behind in school so we have been hitting it hard to catch up from all the times when Daddy needed Mommy to help with the house building. :( So glad you have had time to enjoy being family! Loved the pics. Every time we fly our kites we get that song stuck in our heads! :)
ReplyDeleteCan we have the cheesesteak recipe. Love the pictures and the post. Love you too!
ReplyDeleteYeah I second that about the recipe...I was actually thinking about it last night on the way home from church...would be nice to try as the hubs enjoys that kind of food. :)
