Yep, it's official. I am getting old. Saturday was my birthday and I've now entered my last year in my 20's. Crazy. But hey, I don't have any gray hair yet, so that's good, lol! =D
My children were ecstatic about my birthday and had been having little whispered discussions all week about what they were going to do for me. It was so sweet. =) With the help of Daddy they baked me this adorable cake...chocolate (of course) with turquoise and red icing. It was delish, too. =)
The three candles in the middle were actually trick candles. See that little impish grin on Lydia's face?? Yeah, no innocence there! =)
One of the ladies at church put together this gift basket for me...I was floored! It was filled with Bath and Body Works stuff, two candles, salon shampoo and hairspray, wowsers! What a treat! I am usually very sensitive to smells, many give me headaches, but all of these were perfect and smelled amazing. I'll be smelling good for quite a while, lol! =)
I was super excited a couple of weeks ago when I saw on the local fire station sign that there was going to be a community yard sale on my birthday. Yippee! That, among so many other things, is proof of how much Jesus loves me, haha! =P Happy Birthday to me!
There were several items that I found that morning that I had prayed for specifically (like nice jeans for Caleb) and that was just thrilling. (Isn't it encouraging to seen God answer prayers, even for little things?) But I also scored some things that I had wanted and that was really exciting as well! See those embroidery hoops up there? I was looking at them and was going to get a few for some craft projects and the man at the table said, "For $4 you can have all of them." So I said, "How about $3?" =D Well, I walked away with a bag FULL of hoops in all sizes. A total of 35 hoops for $3...awesome!
Later on I'll show you my other fab finds...it sure was a great way to start a birthday! =) And since I now have a bazillion embroidery hoops, I'm going to share some of the cool things that I may do with them on Wednesday.
Hope ya'll have a happy Monday!
Happy Belated birthday to you! I'm glad you had a great day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to you! I have figured out that to balance out the getting older, God gives us our wonderful children and hubbies to do sweet things for us to make us feel special. :) Very cute cake. Glad you will smell good instead of bad, ;) Also, those embroidery hoops! Wow! Great find. I was just looking at some here yesterday to use for our upcoming Harvest party, not for embroidering. :) I totally agree with you, when God answers our prayers in the little things it is so amazing! He loves us!
ReplyDelete$3.00 ??? What a steal Obvioulsy the sales person had NO IDEA how much each of them was worth - let a whole grab bag of them!! What are you going to do with them? Can't wait to see!
