Are you "Just Too Busy?"

My husband was preaching on prayer Wednesday night and shared this poem.  

I was so convicted because this is always, always my excuse.  

It's been on my mind a lot since then and I wanted to share it with you.

I got up early one morning 

And rushed right into the day; 

I had so much to accomplish 

That I didn't have time to pray. 

Problems just tumbled about me, 

And heavier came each task. 

"Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered. 

He answered, "You didn't ask." 

I wanted to see joy and beauty, 

But the day toiled on, grey and bleak; 

I wondered why God didn't show me. 

He said, "But you didn't seek." 

I tried to come into God's presence; 

I used all my keys at the lock. 

God gently and lovingly chided, 

"My child, you didn't knock." 

I woke up early this morning, 

And paused before entering the day; 

I had so much to accomplish 

That I had to take time to pray.

Prayer is the greatest resource we have, and yet I fail far too often to tap into the strength and help available to me!

Do you know what the root issue is? 

Pride. Self-reliance.

My lack of prayer says to God, "I don't need you."  

That's a scary thought.

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5

Don't be too busy friends...if you haven't already, let God know how much you desperately need Him today!
