Making Your Home a Haven Challenge

Monica, at The Homespun Heart, (one of my very favorite blogs by the way!) has challenged us all in this week about Making Your Home a Haven.

My goal in life is to be a virtuous woman who will glorify the Lord. In Proverbs 31 we can read all about her and all the many ways she blesses her family with her thriftiness, her productivity, creativity and work ethic. I'm sure her home was a haven for her family from the world! The Bible also says in Proverbs 14:1 that, "Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands." This verse has so many applications, but this week it's my theme verse for my home. We as wives and mothers have so much power in our hands to either make our break our "havens!"

Today the focus is on being tidy. If you are anything like me and have little people about, this is a HUGE issue. It seems there is always something laying around! And especially since we moved two weeks ago, there are things that have cluttered up some places and need a permanent home. Monica's challenge was just the thing to get me re-motivated!

So my goals today are:

Clear off the piano and decorate
Clear off the mantle and decorate
Paint the bathroom with the second coat of paint
Hang the map in the school room
Hang up all the hangers that are in a box
Dinner: Kielbasa, potatoes, cabbage and green beans in the crock pot

You'll want to check back because I'm going to have some before and after pictures. Okay, time to get busy!
