I Have Been Blessed

Have you ever just sat down and reflected on your life and how much you have been blessed?

For most of the people close to our family, salvation would be the first thing on the list! The fact that God, our Creator and the very one who sustains our being, loves me is amazing. Not only does He love me, He sent His Son, His only Son to die for my sin. It's really as simple as I was explaining it to my children as we were riding down the road last week. We are all sinners, we've all done wrong, and we have sin that has to be payed for. We can pay for our sin ourselves by spending eternity in hell. Or, we can choose to accept the free gift Christ has given us, eternal life. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life."

I think the second thing on my list would have to be my family. I am so blessed to have a husband who loves the Lord with all of his heart and desires to serve Him. He is a hard worker and tries to do everything to the best of his ability. I am so blessed because he is a wonderful husband...even after 6 1/2 years of marriage he still loves me and we are best friends. =) I am so blessed because my husband is a wonderful daddy. He loves his children and takes the time necessary to train, nurture and love them.

I am so blessed to be able to hear the screams of "Mommy!" down the hall. My dream from the time I was a little girl was to be a wife and a mom. I am so blessed because God answered my prayer of being a mother twice! "Unworthy" pretty much describes how I feel about how much God has blessed me with the children we have. I was recently asked by a med student, while talking about the medical diffulties our children have faced, if I had ever just felt overwhelmed like, "Why me?" "Yes, most certainly yes", I told him,"I really don't know why God has blessed me so much by giving me these special kids." I don't think it was the answer he was anticipating.

I am so blessed to have had parents who loved me and took me to church faithfully. My mom taught me so many things about how to be a wife and mother and I'm forever grateful! I'm so blessed to have godly in-laws that are close by and that we can see very often. We've been so blessed with great friends that are just like family.

This list could truly go on and on! But I want to share with you the words of a song we learned this summer. It is very meaningful to our family and I hope the words will mean something to you as well. The title is "I Have Been Blessed."
