Like I said in the last post, we had a great time at the picnic! These were my favorite pictures from Saturday...usually I do everything chronologically, but not this time! I'm not sure what's happening to me in my old age. =0)
This is Lydia's buddy Mary Grace. They are so cute! Lydia and Mary have so much fun together and I'm so glad that they are friends. I think it's been good for both of them!
I really thought once Caleb got into the race car that he would NEVER get out!! My son eats, breathes and sleeps cars! (And trains too!) So needless to say, he was just elated to be able to sit in a race car and "drive" it.
This picture didn't show up as good on here, but it was really neat. All the little kids had a blast crawling through these tunnels over and over again!
Dr. Bensky and his whole family came to the picnic and stayed the entire time. It was so nice to be able to meet his wife and two daughters. Lydia was hilarious because when Dr. Bensky got there I said, "Look Lydia, there's Dr. Bensky! Do you want to go say hi?" And she just looked at him with the strangest expression on her face. And then she asked, "Mom, where is he, I don't see him?" And I pointed at him again and I said, "Look, he's right there." (We weren't very far away either.) Her little face was still kind of scrunched up and she said, "Mommy, are you SURE? That doesn't look like him!" And then I got it. Lydia didn't recognize him because he was wearing a polo shirt and shorts and she's only ever seen him in his shirt and tie at the hospital! She was still kind of skeptical when she walked up to say hi, but then she realized it really was him. =) Later during the picnic she asked him for a picture together. She was just so sweet and cute when she did it too. And as always, he was happy to oblige. =0)
This is Lydia and Dr. Watt's, her surgeon. He and his two daughters came to the picnic as well. His daughters are teenagers and thought it was so sweet that all these little kids were coming up and hugging on their daddy. I think it must have been neat for them to see since he's so busy with the hospital and gone ALOT. Lydia asked him for a picture and he just smiled so big and said, "Anything for you sweetheart!" =) Lydia just adores him! Dr. Bensky and I started telling Dr. Watts' daughters about how every time we are in the office Lydia is asking to see him and that she always brings him gummy bears, cards, pictures, etc. They thought that was pretty cute! =)
